On November 6th 2004,
Ashley Ingram contacted me
via telephone for the first time.
But due to a bad telephoneconnection
we continued our short conversation
via MSN Messenger.
Here it is for you to read:

Pascale (webmaster) says: (16:41:49)
Hi Ashley! I hope this works better than the phone! Sorry about that!

ashley says: (16:42:18)
NO PROBLEM!

Pascale says: (16:42:45)
I guess the bad weather and the distance makes
the connection so badly...

Pascale says: (16:42:57)
Still, i'm very happy to hear from you!

ashley says: (16:43:14)
so much to say

Pascale says: (16:43:25)
I'm all ears!

ashley says: (16:44:21)
well, how many fans are there still out there and can we attract more

Pascale says: (16:45:44)
Well, i can't tell you exactly how many, but we had quite a few visitors so far. I'm sure the many visitors/fans at Leee's site
would also love to hear again from you aswell.

Pascale says: (16:46:49)
As you can imagine, Leee's shows attract a lot of old fans to the site.
A lot of people start remembering and rediscovering the music and it's artists again.

Pascale says: (16:47:35)
I will put a special message at Leee's forum if you like or maybe you like to do so yourself?

ashley says: (16:47:37)
that is so cool, sometimes i wonder what the fans expect from me

ashley says: (16:48:22)
do they still want to hear just the old classics or are they ready to hear how we all grow

Pascale says: (16:49:52)
As far as i know, the fans really like to know what you have been doing these past years. Through the old songs they are discovering the new songs. Something they are very interested in.
Ofcourse they do keep listening to the old ones but i do know that they are ready to hear the new stuff as they like to hear the new sound you've grown into.

ashley says: (16:50:29)
thats cool

ashley says: (16:52:35)

i want to build a new profile on myself, that of course, came from the old ashley but as a producer also there are other sides now like giving musical advise to young musicians and singers and working with new talent

ashley says: (16:53:44)
from all over the world

ashley says: (16:53:56)
and all languages

Pascale says: (16:54:09)
Yes, i can imagine. That is why i really would love for you to send me a new text, a new story, so everybody can read it. If Claire can provide me with this, it would be great.

Pascale says: (16:54:40)
I bet these past years must have been really great for you.
All these new experiences...

Pascale says: (16:54:53)
Wow!

ashley says: (16:57:57)
yes as a producer i became aware of many styles of music, and as you know i play so many instuments i have worked with indian african japanese french and german artists, and many more world musicians....
and of course i dont forget my dance roots either, so naturally i have alot to say now, and you have heard only a little, but that will know soon change

Pascale says: (16:58:31)
Great!! I can't wait!!

ashley says: (16:58:32)
and also at some stage i really would like to meet you and all the people connected

Pascale says: (16:59:17)
That is really fantastic news!!! especially for Fulvio and Joseph who never had the chance to meet you and really are hoping to do so some day soon.

ashley says: (16:59:37)
i am open to many new ideas that could improve the web site and create a new energy for this site

ashley says: (17:00:33)
so please dont be afraid to give me as many suggestions as you can

Pascale says: (17:01:53)
Don't worry. I do must say that i'm not a professional webdesigner.
And the software i'm using is just a small one,
still i do my best to make it into something great or cool as you put it.
Do you like the look of the site so far?

ashley says: (17:03:35)
yes i do but pascale i must go because my car is waiting for me to go to the studio we will speak soon...ok pascale!

ashley says: (17:04:01)
speak soon

Pascale says: (17:04:08)
Ok!! It was great talking to you again and hope to hear more of you soon!!

2004-04-05

Hey everyone, sorry its been a while, i'm here in tokyo, across the street where they shot the film"lost in translation" i;m finnishing, one project and getting ready to start another next week, then i will prepare for my first live show the "one man one guitar" show next month, it will be in tokyo and i'm "gettin a little nervous"! the last time i sang on stage by myself, i think Leee was with me, so i guess he will hold my hand in spirit! I still dont know if this is what i want for the long term, i love producing records for other people but i do enjoy singing with my guitar. In my show, i will sing one of the songs in japaneese, as i produced it and co-wrote it!(this one sold 1.5 million copies here in japan alone, the song is called "milk" ("Me-ru")in japaneese and the artists name is "Chara" and i;ve also re-arranged and will be singing an acoustic version of "you gotta be" who Des'ree of course originally sang, and a song which i had a billboard top 10 r&b hit with a singer named "Jesse powell" a song called "your the one i love". The show will be recorded and if it looks ok i will send out a copy to Pascale if it sucks, well i guess no-one but my personal trash can will see it!.... wish me luck and i'll speak soon, once again many thanks to all my fans.......(i'm sorry that word still makes me shy..after all these years...what is wrong with me!) but i appreciate you guys so much for this website and all that you have done for me. For all your work... i deeply thank you...Ashley G Ingram

Hi this is Ashley ingram, no, the last message was not phoney, i just needed time to think. Its been a long time since i have been involved in fan mail, and fan support, and i really did apreciate(and still do) all of what you have done for me over the years, my life has changed alittle from the imagination days, but we all change and i hope continue to change, as a record producer, ive been more stable, living in los angeles for 9 yrs, I am right now in tokyo producing a japanesse band (i dont know ,were you aware that i have produced a few japaneese artists and have had no 1 and platinum records here)?i continue to write songs for other people as you know my style has changed from the old Imagination but i love the old memories, acoustic guitar has always been a big part of my life even when i was with Imagination but the keyboard was the sound of the 80's.I still play keyboards bass drums and anything i can get my hands on! this will never change. I have been thinking hard over a japaneese offer to be a solo artist again.....i had to laugh! after all this time! i really have not changed alot, and they are very persuasive, i would like to know what my fans think, it will it will be folky pop and maybe alittle funky at times, it will have tones of de'ree as i created that sound and some of the best parts of what i have produced for others...fulvio,frank and pascale...email me lets finally talk.......ashley g ingram
